On February 20, 2019, Wednesday, the Arts and Sciences Program in Lourdes College celebrated National Arts Month with the theme “Ani ng Sining: Philippine Arts Festival”. The National Arts Month was spearheaded by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). In the Philippines, it is celebrated every February to promote Philippine arts.

The event was formally opened by the program dean, Mr. Noel Pit and the welcome remarks by Dr. Judith C. Chavez. Lourdes College Strings and the LC Chorale played Filipino Folk songs with Ms. Ana de la Fuente as conductor.

This is one way to give tribute to the talents of our national artists in music, dance, theater, visual arts, literature, film, broadcast, arts, and architecture. It was made to develop talents into skills and promote culture and arts. Moreover, it teaches students to respect artists of all fields and to value the artist’s field of style.

Artworks of students like coffee painting were displayed at the lobby. This gave an opportunity for students to show their artistic skills through exhibits and performances.
