The Lourdes College Social Work Program celebrated the Social Work Day Cum Research Presentation in participation with the International Social Work Day Celebration last Mach 23, 2019, with the theme “Promoting the importance of Human Relationship”.
The day’s event was divided into two parts. The morning session was the research presentation participated by the third year students. Each student presented their own and unique researches that would live up to this year’s theme. After each student presented their work, Ms. Jhea Arcala and Mr. Lucky Bustos were awarded as the Best Presenters and their paper also won as Best Research Paper.
The afternoon session was the presentation of Social Work Programs and Services and their best practices in the different fields of social work. Guest speakers were invited to teach and share ideas to the social work students about the social work programs and services and for them to be prepared in their future endeavors as a social worker. Ms. Cybill Ejera, Ms. Hyacinth Maganding from the NHA and Ms. Vanny Obsioma from the DSWD were the invited guests.
After the activity, the social work students were left with a great sense of fulfillment as they were able to learn new knowledge about the different programs and services of the social work profession.
“Through research, programs and services can be created to promote the Importance of human beings and relationship”, said Mrs. Sheena Abad the Program Coordinator of the Social Work Program.
