A Disaster Preparedness Forum was conducted by the Philippine Red Cross to the NSTP students on the afternoon of September 22, 2018 at the LC Auditorium.
The opening remarks were addressed by Hon. Eddie Abrogar, Chairman of Barangay Bayabas, followed by the discussion of the importance of mitigating the risks of a catastrophic disaster by the Chairman of the Philippine Red Cross in Cagayan de Oro. The fora was filled with information that led the students to ask questions on how to be fully prepared if disaster occurs.
One of the highlights pf the talk is on the goal of disaster preparedness such as to lessen the impact of disasters on vulnerable populations, to prepare the organization for an influx of activity, and to design a coordinated plan that reduces the waste of resources, time, and efforts.
Disaster Preparedness is one of the top keys in reaching a high level of awareness, should one come across various disasters. Having the knowledge on how to be prepared gives the self-assurance on safety measures.
