In an effort to continually guide the nursing students towards quality education, the Allied Health Program spearheaded the last leg of a series of enhancement seminars last January 25-26, 2019 at the Nursing Arts Laboratory.

The two-day activity was participated by the 3rd year and 4th year nursing students of Lourdes College and was joined by the nursing students of Christ the King College of Gingoog City and St. Michael’s College of lligan City.

The invited resource speaker, Professor Michael Borras, RN, focused his discussion on Psychiatric Nursing which tackled Psychopharmacology, therapeutic communication and maladaptive patterns of behaviors such as eating disorders, sexual disorders, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.

The activity was wrapped up with a 100-item evaluation test on the topics discussed.

In entirety, the series of enhancements organized by the Allied Health Program headed by Dean Norma E. Simborio, RN, DM, provided an avenue for the nursing students to widen their knowledge and to use the knowledge acquired to become competent, compassionate, and committed nurses in the future.
