In line with National Environmental Awareness Month and National Clean Air Month, a forum was held on November 21, 2018, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon in the Lourdes College Auditorium. This was attended by the Grade 11 Senior High School and as well as the college students.
The speaker, Mr. RanoRay Love A. Noro, from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources focused his talk on educating the students on certain topics like Biodiversity and its importance to the environment. He emphasized that “Progress is impossible without change”. This means that initiative must be taken to help the planet in one’s own way.
After this event, the participants were inspired to take part in saving Mother Earth. Every living thing has a connection to every life form. As Lourdesians, students aims to be stewards of God’s Creation and to be Earth Warriors.
Environmental awareness proves important for several reasons; it fosters a sense of connection to the natural world, promotes sustainable development and encourages conservation of irreplaceable natural resources and vulnerable plant and animal species.
