The Formulation of the Lourdes College Core Values

INTRODUCTION

Anchored on the spirituality of Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo, (Foundress of the Religious of the Virgin Mary) the school implements the Ignacian Core Values Framework of the RVM Education Ministry with a slight modification for the integration of the LC Core Values Framework crafted in SY 2003-2004.

Featured as in a wheel, the framework synthesizes what the school believes to be the essential elements in the formation of Ignacian spirituality among the members of the Lourdes College Community.

The LC Ignacian Core Values Framework is Christ –centered as shown by the symbol of Christ at the hub of the wheel. From this center radiates the three Igncian Core Values of FAITH, EXCELLENCE AND SERVICE, each of which is further expressed through the related values occupying each spoke of the wheel.

The arrows in the Core Values signify dynamism and interrelatedness of all the values.

VALUE THRUST OF THE MONTH

Based on this framework, certain related values of the three Core Values are being highlighted in a period of two months to give ample time for the whole community to know, internalize and consciously  live out the  values. The following strategies are employed; integrating these values in the lessons, posting of these values in the bulletin boards and emphasizing these values for the month during the First Friday Masses.

All the three core values with their corresponding related values  are distributed  to specific months the whole year round to wit:
